Kitchen - more than just space

Planning a kitchen requires forethought. It is important to consider the size of the space, the family’s lifestyle, habits and the intensity of use of appliances. When the kitchen is planned correctly, it not only simplifies work, but also becomes a space where you enjoy spending time.

Which type of kitchen is right for you?

An open kitchen, which is often integrated with the living area, is ideal for those who prefer close relationships. Its main advantages are:

  • Facilitation of communication — you can simultaneously prepare food and chat with guests or family;
  • Visual opening of the space — especially effective in small apartments;
  • A sense of unity — creates a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Nevertheless, many families still prefer a closed kitchen. This choice is effective for those who want to:

  • Control the spread of odors to other parts of the apartment;
  • Maintain traditional zoning.

Studio-type kitchens are especially suitable for compact apartments, where every square meter must be used to the maximum. Such a solution requires smart planning and a minimalist approach from the user.

When planning a kitchen, the placement of appliances is one of the main challenges. An efficient kitchen means that everything is accessible and the logic of the space is not violated.

The correct selection and location of the exhaust system is critical:

  • The best location is directly above the stove;
  • The recommended height is 65-75 cm from the ceiling;
  • The length of the pipe is as short as possible so as not to lose efficiency.

Placing a washing machine in the kitchen has both advantages and certain limitations.

Pros:

  • Does not require additional communications - water and sewage are already there;
  • Space saving - especially in small apartments.

Limitations:

  • Takes up kitchen cabinets;
  • May cause noise or increased humidity.

Tip: If you have additional space - in the bathroom or in a separate laundry room - moving the washing machine there will provide both peace and functionality.

The kitchen is a space that should “live” with you. Its proper planning means more comfort, efficiency, and enjoyment of everyday activities. Modern kitchens offer us freedom of choice — whether it is an integrated open space or a functionally separated corner.
